Over 40 Guides (girls aged 10 – 14) from Girlguiding Blackburn Division descended on Clitheroe Castle museum to have a night of medieval madness. They built catapults and made knights and dragons.

To complete the evening they participated in a who-dunnit trail around the museum discovering information about Clitheroe and the surrounding area. They even discovered how local Guides used to look on parade.

The Guides then settled down amongst the exhibits for a night’s sleep. It was certainly a different place to have a sleepover, but the Guides settled down finally in the early hours. The whole event was a complete success and the Clitheroe castle team were excellent hosts.

Kiah age 14 said, “It was really different to any sleepover we have done before. The staff were brilliant and the whole event was really well organised. I’m so glad I didn’t have to sleep in the room about the Pendle Witches though!””
