Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section from Ribble Valley Division took part in the first ‘Snow Moon Lantern Parade’ in Clitheroe on Saturday 3rd February.
The young members had been busy making their lanterns in the previous three weeks from willow and tissue paper. They were very excited to make lanterns and take part in the parade.
Gracie, age 5 of 1st Waddington Rainbows, said “Making the lanterns was really sticky!
I liked walking through town, the candle helped us see the way!”
Ellie, age 5, also 1st Waddington Rainbows, said, “I liked sticking the decorations on and I liked going on the walk, because I liked seeing all the lanterns!
The parade started at the top of Clitheroe Castle and wound around the grounds, finishing at Clitheroe Market.
There were more than 150 lanterns in the parade in total, with organisers hoping the success of the event will be repeated next year.
